I have setup merge replication and facing some issues with the snapshot files cleanup. I understand the distribution agent is responsible for this cleanup but it does not seem to purge old files. It does not give me any error and runs with success.
I have checked sp_configure to ensure xp_cmdshell is enabled and it is.
I have also checked shared folder permissions and all have been set appropriately. Now I seek views and suggestions on what else I may need to check in order to get this agent to clean up old snapshot files.
I have looked at Replication Snapshot folder not cleaning up where the suggestion is to use powershell script if nothing is working. But I want to know why it's not working and why job history does not give any error?
