I have a shopping website needs to do function update time to time. I want to shorten the influence time on the website when it's doing release. (Note: application is tomcat service set on a EC2 instance.) My first thought is do the release on the clone of the EC2 instance and the database is point to the RDS(MYSQL) read replica. So the master database data can be synced to the replica. I set the "read-only" to false so that I can execute write on the replica. The replica is updated some info to point to the clone EC2 instance before release. But it meets replication error when user log in the shopping website. The replication error shows it is insert the data from master database to the replica.
My question is how can I replicate the data from one RDS to the slave RDS but while I need to do the update on the slave RDS?
